Rent a timeshare vacation system in New York
|
Question: When was spending my holiday in New Yord , my wife and I shown a time share
vacation system which seems pretty good in its concept . Does anyone have any
experience with time share vacations and what to look/look-out for?
Any info would be appreciated
Answer: Yes I can tell you what to watch out for: 1. Ridicious annual update fees - MCI is notorious on this
Fees for transfering, catalogs, submitting requests, etc. 2. Low resale value - over 50% as you walk out the door if you can find
a buyer
3, High 'maintainance' fees - for one week I pay almost as much as
my housing association for a year. 4. Overbooked accomidations - usually there is a clause that they
can overbook a room and if so they will supply you with
comperable accomindations.
I own a timeshare condo (in Hawaii) and if I was not planning on
using it myself or giving a week as a present to relatives and friends (my brother and his new wife stayed there on his honeymoon)
I would not have gotten it at all.
Look for one where the week is not fixed, low transfer fees and the type
that you would interested in going to at least half the time.
There are also a lot of timeshares on the market which you can get cheaper
than retail but you need to know what you are looking for.
