Timeshare Rentals In Kauai , Bequia or Cocoview - Advice
|
Question: As always, I turn to this group for advice on where to go. Have been to
Cocoview last two years, and love the place. But, feeling the need to visit
other places. I have landed timeshare rentals in Kauai for two weeks in mid-June 2003. Is ths diving worth the trip? From looking at websites, the diving
is quite expensive. Has anyone ever been to Bequia in the Caribbean? How
is the diving there? Any comparisons? As always, thank you for your
assistance.
Answer: Oh my yes. Kaua'i is awesome--best I'd ever seen. A dozen sea turtles,
some sharks, and plenty other life. A 2 tank dive is $90. And Kaua'i is
incredible by itself too--it'll get you as soon as you exit the plane. I haven't been to Kauai but do agree that Hawaii is a beautiful place.
However, I choke on 2 thanks for $90 US.
I'm also quite interested in Bequia. Anybody? Part of that depends on "where the trip is from". From here in California,
it's less than a five hour flight. If you're coming from the east coast
of the US, it's much longer.
The thing with Hawaii diving is that it's very, very different from the
Caribbean. You won't see spectacular corals or wall. You will, however,
see a fantastic array of fish life, turtles, sharks, and very interesting
topology around these fairly new, volcanic islands.
Also, there's the fact that it's in Hawaii, which is a place worth
going even without the diving. So your topside intervals, you'll find
plenty to do; great beaches, golf, hiking, surfing, great food,
and a lot more.
I go to Hawaii almost every year, and would love to live there or
own a house there.
However, if you're looking for the Caribbean, you may be dissatisfied
with Hawaii. Many Caribbean divers have that reaction. I don't; I've been
to some of the Caribbean's best diving, and I still find plenty to
love about Hawaii.
