Looking for opinions on timeshare ownership at the Killington Grand.

Question: Looking for opinions on timeshare ownership at the Killington Grand. Has
anyone had experience here or with any of the other ASC Grand Summit
properties?
Answer: 've never had the experience but I've heard through the grapevine about
ASC/Grand Summit ownership in The Canyons and Mount Snow from a
friend...which would be the same deal, I assume.
You buy ownership in a space, and have it for a fixed schedule every year...
only a few weekends, depending on your deal. The schedule rotates every
four years or so. You also have a complimentary room set aside at other ASC
properties (when available), in case you travel.
In the story I heard, a guy paid about $120,000 to buy in, and got maybe 5-8
prime weekends during season. From what I heard, this was not a lifetime
ownership...and it's not worth it.
For things like that, better to get a house rental every year, or just buy a
small house for yourself. Just bought a practical guide "Timeshare Condominiums" by Michael
Strauss from Amazon. We intended to buy a timeshare and found all the
reasons for not buying; the book probably saved us between 15-20K USD.
Indeed, the consumers are totally unaware of the industry pitfalls and
scams.
