I needed to sell my timeshare
|
Question: Can anyone tell me if ERA Stroman is a legitimate company to deal with?
So far I have been extremely disappointed with them. I needed to sell my
timeshare in the Bahamas when I saw their ad in USA Today. Well I called
and listened to their promises and sent almost $500 to them to get it
sold. Well since that time (Over a year ago now) I have not had one call
from them and both of the times that I called, they basically said that
they won't talk to me unless they have a buyer for my timeshare.
I see that they still advertise in USA Today but is that all they do.
Has anyone else had this kind of experience with these people?
Answer: I own a timeshare myself that I'd like to sell. I contacted ERA Stroman
in response to one of their solicitations, and listened to their deal:
"Pay us a fee up front, and we'll list your property". I said no, as
I felt a deal structured that way gave them little incentive to sell
once they had my money.
It should be obvious from the extent of their direct mail solicitations (I've had perhaps 50 pieces of mail, mostly identical, from them in the
last 5-6 years), that their primary business activity is in getting
LISTINGS, not necessarily BUYERS.
They may be legitimate, but I think you bought some hope, and not
much in the way of service.
