A bout Owner Timeshare Rentals
|
Question: I have deeds to time shares at a very popular Gold Crown resort. I keep
getting these phone calls from solicitors who want to rent or sell my
timeshare for me. Is third party rental of a time share very common
and are there a lot of these companies doing it? How reliable are they
and is it worth it to the owner? If there's really such a good market
for renting out my time share, couldn't I do it myself, or is it too
difficult and risky for the owner? I've been banking my time with RCI
but I have more than I need.
Answer: It may seem to be a good idea to make money to cover your maintenance
fees.
However, be aware if you let anyone else use your week, they probably
will need a guest certificate.
Another thing is unless the people using your week own a timeshare,
and actually have the week transfered into their timeshare account,
then you can be held liable for any damage or unpaid bills they leave
behind.
Personally I would not let other people use my week unless the week
had been transfered into their account, so I couldnt be held liable
for what they do.
