DVC and Interval International Timeshare Swaps
|
Question: My husband and I are buying into the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) as
soon as we find the right package. Not only will we enjoy OKW, but we
think that we will actually use the timeshare option through Interval
International. Has anyone used their DVC points somewhere other than
Disney resorts? Was it easy? Did you get what you wanted? Are all
DVC weeks RED weeks, or do you have to give up a certain number of
points for RED/WHITE/BLUE weeks at another resort? Does a DVC week
carry more weight in the reservations system?
I surfed over to Interval International's Web site and looked at some
of the properties that Disney has listed in the literature we
received. The properties really do look first class.
Answer: I think you'll find that DVC points have the highest exchange rate of any
listing in the world. After saying that, I still haven't seen a good deal.
Everything other than staying at a DVC resort can be purchased for less
directly. Even rooms at other WDW resorts. The only way I would consider
points exchange a valuable part of the DVC program is in the event I am
unable to bank excess points and need to spend them or lose them.
