Timeshare store Disney owned? something is going on there...

Question:

I bet the timeshare store is an actual disney company or affiliate.

The timeshare store makes a 1500 or 12% which ever is higher from the re-sale of a dvc timeshare.

It seems that the timeshare store is the only way to sell a disney timeshare and with them being the only game in town it would make sense they would be bought out by disney at some point.

Am I fishing here or does anyone have any more info to correct me or confirm my suspicions.

Answer:

I think you're fishing here. You are free to sell your DVC points by going through any broker you want or even without going through a broker. The Timeshare Store just seems to be making the bigest market in DVC points, but is not the only game in town. Why would Disney need to buy them out anyway? If they wanted to all they would have to do is exercise their right of first refusal on any sale and then resell the points themselves.
I'm pretty sure the Timeshare Store is not the only place selling dvc resales. I also know for a fact that dvc is just a small piece of their business - they handle all timeshares, and not even just in Florida. What's your beef? It sounds like you're fishing, but I'm not sure what you're looking for.
