Disney Beach Club Timeshare
|
Question: My husband and I and our 10 month old son just returned from WDW. We went
to the Disney Vacation Club promotion and are seriously considering buying
in. We would buy a Disney timeshare but not another in Orlando, because we
only like to stay on property. Having only bus service isn't a big deal to
us, we have stayed twice at the Port Orleans and once at the Beach Club.
The walk to Epcot and boat to MGM are nice, but not worth twice the price.
The biggest reason for us to buy, is we get tired of eating out and it is
very appealing to be able to cook some of our own meals. So we are looking
for information from the group.
First is information from anybody who has stayed there:
1. How are the pools ? 2. How are the bus routes ?
Answer: My wife and I bought into the Vacation Club 3 years ago, and we love it!
Each time we've been there it has been well maintained, and the CM's are
always "Disney" friendly and helpful. The facilities are particualrly
well suited for families, and more than a couple traveling. The
Accomidations are nice, and what I consider just below luxury level (for
hotel accomidations), but not pretentious. We bought in at 270 points, so
we can have the option of a 1 br, or 2 br most anytime we go, and if we
want to not go a year, or borrow, we gould take a group and get a villa.
We usually find the 1 br or 2 br very comfortable for 4 to 6 people (you
could sleep 8 in a 2 br). 1.The Pools at the Vacation CLub are very nice, and usually never over
corwded, at least that's my expereince, however, it's my understanding,
that as DVC members we can use any pool, spa or exercise facility at any
of the hotels on the property (though I would find it inconvenient to go
from hotel to hotel just for a pool). There are three or four pools and
they are themed differently. One is the Main, Feature pool, larger than
the rest, and sometimes a bit more crowded, as it is the pool by the
Hospitality House. There is also a "quiet" pool, which I found very
relaxing. 2.The bus routes are adaquate, if you keep the schedule in mind. They have
the schedule posted at each stop, for each park's bus, and they are
usually (from my experience) close to "on time". Considering parking, I
don't think you could get inside any park faster than you can by taking
the bus. The main thing is to keep the schedule in mind and plan your
activities accordingly and you'll spend less time waiting for busses. The
only difficult time for busses is at Epcot right after Illuminations, it
usually takes at least 2 or 3 busses to clear the people out, and get them
back to DVC, but I talked to several bus drivers and they told me that
they usually add extra busses right after Illuminations, so it doesn't
take as long as it otherwise would (it just seems like it takes a long
'cause you're soooo tired from a hard day of touring).
