What Is Best Way To Sell Timeshare
|
Question: What is the best way to sell two weeks of timeshare that I have at an
excellent (5 star)condo in Cancun? It is true that I can sell through the
management, but they require a very stiff commission. Is there any
organization that handles this kind of sale on more reasonable terms?
Along this line, I recently received a post card ad from a Robert Lyle, with a 1-800 number, (1-800-829-9209) apparently offering sales assistance for
timeshare and campground owners. Does anyone know about this outfit?
Reliable?
Thanks for any thoughts.
Answer: The best deals on timeshare resales (for both the seller and the
buyer) are done directly between owners. To find them you have to
start with the resort manager and others on the staff who aren't
out to make money on commissions or inflated prices. You won't
find good deals by talking to a timeshare salesperson and you won't
get results by paying an upfront fee to a broker. Each resort has
foreclosures and people who want to bail out, for a variety of
reasons. Sometimes they use a bulletin board, or a newsletter, or
word of mouth to find buyers.
