Best Timeshare In Orlando

Question:

Anyone ever heard of the The SIlver Lake Resort timeshare in Orlando. Is it the best ? They are offering great deals on accommodation if you take their presentation and was wondering if anyone else had done. Thanks

Answer:

90 minutes has ways of becoming 3 hours. Even "low / no pressure" timeshare sales presentations are often grueling. The ONLY one I went through that was painless was at The Plaza in Reno. The salesman was from one of the Slavic countries and we talked about what was happening there at the time (3 - 4 years ago). Not to belittle timeshares, I know there are good ones (not counting DVC as a timeshare, which it is) but usually they sell much less than 1 in 10 people who go through the speel, and they try their best to make you feel like a fool at the end when you say No Thanks! A good deal? Then go through the presentation, get information, think about it, say Thanks but No Thanks, tell them that you have ANOTHER Timeshare Presentation to go through (pick Vistana, Westlake, Orange Lake Country Club or DVC as your other presentation) and that you'll be in contact if the others don't pan out as good, don't listen to the "do this now and we'll toss in a free week in Cancun" bit, and if you are really interested in their property, look it up under resale options.

As just one example, we visited Polo Towers in Las Vegas for their special deal. Nice deal too. www.polotowers.com they have a great webcam! Price on a 2 bedroom started at over $16k, moved down to $15,500 quickly, I made them an honest and educated offer of no more than $11,500 cash including all incidentals. Their VP of sales came to the salespersons rescue rather quickly, asked where I had my information from, and after listening to what I had to say and the statistics I presented said they have never gone below $13,300 ++ and would I consider that, and my answer was "not at this time". They came to our room before the end of the vacation with free champagne and dinner coupons, which we used, and near the end we were offered one last final offer for a week which had "just become available" due to an "upgrade"
(read that surrender) for a rate at or below what I had originally proposed. We still said No Thanks, we were going to check out resale prices, which I had already researched. Did we buy? Well, I found a 2 bedroom lockout during a high-traffic convention week that just happened (rental unit) for better than I expected, and less than 1/2 of what they originally were asking. We use bonus time or utilize the lockout functions.

Example of Resale at Silver Lake... 2 bedroom 2 bath sleeps 8, red week (all of Orlando is Red, like Vegas) $4990.00 (that's the low end, high resale is under $7500)
